1981 Subaru Rex

Automobiles

In August 1981 the second generation Rex appeared with front wheel drive, new bodywork and independent suspension, and it carried over almost nothing from the rear engined car. Power stayed at 31 PS from a twin barrel carburetor, and customers could choose a three or five door hatchback. The new car also became the base for the larger Justy. The second generation Rex also formed the basis for the larger Subaru Justy.
