1980 BMW 6 Series

Automobiles

In 1980 the fuel injection systems of the E24 changed from the Bosch L-Jetronic to Bosch Motronic, a digital engine management that BMW introduced across its six cylinder cars. The change gave the coupe slightly better running and efficiency, and the 6 Series range now consisted of the 628CSi, 633CSi and 635CSi, all with Motronic. Motronic made the six cylinder cars smoother and more economical than with the earlier L-Jetronic units.
