In August 1979 the front of the Carina received a major change that now included four headlamp lights rather than the previous setup, with the Van remaining with four round lamps. The Van was facelifted again in August 1979 as well. It was model year 3 of 4 in the Toyota Carina (second generation, A40 and A50), 1977 to 1980, coming after the 1978 model year and before the 1980 model year.
