With the Torino ending production after 1976, the 1977 Ranchero was restyled in line with the LTD II mid size car line that replaced the Torino on the same platform. The same three models as since 1968 were still offered and the Ranchero could be ordered in quite luxurious form, with engines going up to the 400 cubic inch V8. It was the last style of the Ranchero. It was the first year of the seventh and final generation, which ran through 1979.
