1977 Chrysler New Yorker

Automobiles

For 1977 the standard 440 cubic inch V8 was revised with a new computer controlled lean burn system, allowing more responsive acceleration and performance but aimed at improving fuel efficiency, though the technology could be problematic and require maintenance. The engine was rated at 195 horsepower and 320 pound feet of torque, which was needed for the 4,739 pound weight of a typical New Yorker, a heavy and comfortable luxury sedan.
