1976 Chrysler New Yorker

Automobiles

The 1976 New Yorker inherited the front and rear end styling of the discontinued Imperial, including covered headlights flanking a vertical waterfall split grille topped with a hood ornament, and vertical taillamps at the rear between peaked fenders. The Imperial styling gave the New Yorker an unforeseen boost in sales, as the car looked distinctly different from the lower priced Chrysler Newport, whose styling cues came from the earlier New Yorkers.
