The last new version of the sedan was the KP50, which featured the de smogged 3K-U engine with 64 PS. In June 1976 a five speed transmission became available in the P50, the first Publica to be thus equipped. It was model year 6 of 7 in the Toyota Publica (third series, P30 and P50), 1969 to 1978, coming after the 1975 model year and before the 1977 model year.
