A five speed manual transmission became an option on the Courier for the 1976 model year. The pickup was sold with a 1.8 litre overhead cam engine of 74 horsepower in standard form, and a three speed automatic could be had. Around 1,500 examples were converted to four wheel drive Courier Sasquatch. The Courier was a Ford nameplate used on very different vehicles in different places and years, from sedan deliveries to pickups and vans.
