Matadors now included a standard no maintenance electronic ignition developed by Prestolite. All United States market Matadors featured catalytic converters that required unleaded regular grade fuel, and steel belted radial tires became standard equipment on all Matadors. An uplevel Brougham trim option became available for sedans and wagons starting with the 1975 model year.
