The Mark III continued as the facelifted TD in 1974, with the new flatter dashboard that had arrived in late 1973. Its raised driving position and dashboard were already in place, and the later Mark IV would show them off. The Cortina was still the best selling car in Britain, with the Pinto 2.0 liter engine available in all trims except base and the Kent crossflow 1300 and 1600 as the volume choices.
