The 1973 to 1975 K5 Blazers were equipped with a removable convertible top. The 1973 Blazer arrived when General Motors redesigned its line of full size trucks. As tested by Popular Science in 1973, a K5 Blazer with the 175 horsepower 350 V8, automatic transmission and full time four wheel drive was slow to accelerate. The 350 cubic inch small block V8 was offered from 1969 to 1991. The 1973 Blazer began the second generation, known as the square body.
