Marketed first as the Ford Cortina Pickup, the coupe utility of 1972 had bodywork that closely followed that of the Cortina, and it was made in South Africa. It was a half ton pickup, a car derived load carrier popular there as a cheaper alternative to a full size pickup truck. The P100 was a coupe utility pickup that Ford built on the front half of a family car, sold first in South Africa and then in Europe. It began as the Cortina Pickup and ended in 1995 on the Sierra, built in Portugal.
