The Dart was refreshed for 1970 with front and rear changes that brought it closer to Dodge's full size design themes. To avoid competing with the new Challenger the Dart convertible and the optional 383 V8 were dropped, leaving the 340 four barrel with 275 horsepower as the top engine. The performance model was the Swinger 340 two door hardtop, with functional hood scoops. US and Canadian Darts were built at Windsor, Ontario, or Los Angeles.
