The year 1969 was the first for the fuselage styling on the Chrysler 300, with a more rounded and sculpted body than the earlier cars, and the headlamps stayed concealed as the 300's trademark. There were two engine options, the 440 and the more powerful 440 TNT, and the car was available as a four door hardtop, a two door hardtop and a convertible, against which Chrysler's 300 competed with the Pontiac and Oldsmobile performance luxury cars.
