A 1968 face lift brought concealed headlamps to the Chrysler 300, a feature that would remain a 300 trademark until 1971. The 440 V8 stayed the only engine, in base and TNT forms, and the body styles remained the four door hardtop, the two door hardtop and the convertible. It was the last year of the 1965 body, before the fuselage styling of 1969. The Chrysler 300 of 1968 kept the performance image of the earlier letter series cars, with the TNT version of the 440 giving the Sport Series the performance of a muscle car in a luxurious full size body that also carried Chrysler's standard comfort features.
