The 1969 Camaro carried over its drivetrain and major mechanical parts but had all new sheet metal except the hood, trunk lid and roof, which gave it a new look for that year only. The model year ran into November 1969 because of manufacturing problems that delayed the 1970 second generation car, and two COPO orders, 9560 and 9561, were offered. A semi automatic two speed Torque-Drive transmission was available on six cylinder models, twelve engines were offered, and a cowl induction hood became an option on the Z/28 in 1969.
