The B1500 of 1968 was in its fourth year of the second generation, the squarer Proceed with the 1484 cc engine, 72 PS, a one ton payload and a torsion bar front suspension. It was assembled in New Zealand from CKD kits from 1967, the first Japanese pickup truck so assembled there. Through its association with Ford, Mazda produced the B series as the Ford Courier and the Ford Ranger. In Japan the B series was referred to as the Mazda Proceed for much of its production.
