The Charger was redesigned for 1968 with Coke bottle styling by Richard Sias and a simpler, less upscale interior with a regular rear seat. The new R/T package came standard with the 440 Magnum, with the 426 Hemi optional, and made the Charger one of the top Chrysler muscle cars. The car also played the villain's ride in a San Francisco chase in the film Bullitt, and Chrysler's cartoon bee Scat Pack marketing began that year.
