The 1969 Charger gained a grille with a center divider and longitudinal taillights, and a new Special Edition trim that could be had alone or with the R/T. The Charger 500 was introduced in September 1968 for 392 cars with a flush grille and rear window to cut drag, and the Charger Daytona with its long nose and tall rear wing followed on 13 April 1969. An orange 1969 Charger later became the General Lee of The Dukes of Hazzard.
