The 1967 Belvedere GTX introduced Plymouth's upscale muscle car, differentiated from the plain Belvedere by a blacked out grille and special rear panel, fiberglass hood scoops, a chrome pop open fuel filler cap and a tachometer on the center console. The standard 440 V8 was rated at 375 horsepower, the Hemi was optional, and the GTX was called a gentleman's muscle car. The GTX was based on the Belvedere and was sold at first as the Belvedere GTX.
