The fifth generation F-Series was introduced in 1966 for the 1967 model year. Its cab was 3 inches wider than before and its frame was heavier, and the grille, exterior trim, interior fittings and engine choices were unique to this year. Trim levels were the Base, the Custom Cab and the Ranger. It was built on the same platform as the fourth generation F-Series, with sharper styling lines and expanded engine options, and the Mercury M-Series was still sold in Canada.
