The Coronet received a facelift in 1967, after its redesign in 1966. The new Coronet R/T, available as a two door hardtop or convertible, used the 440 Magnum with 375 horsepower as its standard engine, with the 426 Hemi, in its second year in Street trim, as the only option. Front seat belts and a padded dash were standard on the base Coronet, and the Coronet 440 was the mid-range model available as a two door hardtop, a convertible or a wagon.
