In 1966 a four door Coronet 500 was added, called the Coronet 500 SE for Special Edition, with SE logos on the C pillars and seatback. The Coronet received a redesign in 1966. When the 426 Hemi became available to the public that year it could be ordered in any Coronet model or trim level, and 136 Coronet 500 Street Hemis were built. Coronets were built at Chrysler's Los Angeles plant, the Lynch Road plant in Detroit and the St. Louis plant in Missouri.
