The 1967 models received nothing more than a touch up after the restyling for 1966, but carried significant improvements in safety equipment, including a government mandated energy absorbing steering column, soft interior parts, recessed knobs and dual brake master cylinders. The Nova SS option package replaced all Chevy II badging with Nova SS badging, and sales dropped by more than a third to 106,500, partly because the Chevrolet Camaro took away some Nova sales.
