The 1967 models received a facelift, and front disc brakes were available on all models, along with a new dual master cylinder brake system that incorporated a warning light. Starting in January 1967 the Chevelle SS396 became available, and only 867 SS 396 models were produced at the Oshawa, Ontario production facility during 1967. In Canada Chevelles continued to have Malibu SS badges for the 1966 and early 1967 model years.
