For 1964 the Impala was restyled to a more rounded, softer look, with the 1963 rooflines carried over unchanged. All full size 1964 Chevrolet wagons got small vertical rectangular taillight lenses. The 1964 model year has become a staple of lowrider culture and is often named in West Coast hip hop songs, and from 1964 the Super Sport was a separate model with its own VIN prefix. The right hand drive cars built in Canada for export used a right hand drive version of the left hand drive 1961 Pontiac dashboard.
