Chevrolet made only evolutionary changes to the Corvette for 1964. Duntov had disliked the split rear window of the 1963 coupe because it hurt rear visibility, so it was replaced by a single piece of arched glass, and the two fake hood vents lost their openings. The ride was refined with new springs and shocks and extra sound deadening, and 22,229 Sting Rays were sold, another record. Options on the second generation included an AM FM radio, air conditioning and leather upholstery.
