The Fireflite's appearance was redesigned for 1957 with the help of Chrysler's head stylist, Virgil Exner, giving a bold, radical look with large tailfins, dual oval exhausts and triple lens taillights. A four headlight system was optional, back up lights became standard, and a station wagon was added to the Fireflite lineup, while the Adventurer took over as the premium DeSoto model. The hemi engine grew to 341 cubic inches with up to 295 horsepower.
