1956 Morris Cowley

Automobiles

On 12 October 1956 it was announced that the 1200 engine had been replaced by the larger 1.5 liter engine of 1489 cubic centimeters from the Oxford, and the exterior styling was changed to match the Morris Oxford Series III. In the same year the Morris half ton Series III, a commercial vehicle variant of the Oxford, replaced the Morris Cowley van, though the Cowley name never appeared on it. It was the second engine fitted to the 1954 Cowley.
