The 1954 Consul EOTA was a four door saloon with a 1508 cc overhead valve engine and unibody construction, with a three speed gearbox and PVC trimmed bench seat. The convertible version, made by Carbodies, continued, and the Consul shared its stablemate the Zephyr's MacPherson strut independent front suspension. Cars were assembled in New Zealand from knock down kits as well as at Dagenham. The Consul was the four cylinder car in the Zephyr range, with unibody construction.
