For 1954 the Bel Air stayed essentially the same apart from a revised grille and taillights, and a revised engine with insert bearings and higher oil pressure, which was needed for the full flow oil filtration system that had not been available before 1954. In 1953 and 1954 Bel Airs could be ordered as a convertible, a hardtop coupe and two and four door sedans, and for 1954 as the Beauville station wagon, which had woodgrain trim around the side windows. Power brakes, a power two way front seat and power front windows were offered in 1954.
