1951 Toyota Land Cruiser

Automobiles

The Toyota Jeep BJ prototype was developed in January 1951, demand for military type utility vehicles coming from the Korean War. In July 1951 a prototype was driven up to the sixth stage of Mount Fuji, the first vehicle to climb that height, and the National Police Agency quickly ordered 289 of them. This was the first model year of the Toyota Land Cruiser (BJ and FJ series), 1951 to 1954, the first generation covered for the Toyota Land Cruiser; the 1952 model year follows it. Model year pages for the Toyota Land Cruiser run from 1951 to 2026.
