The Coronet was introduced for 1949 with the division's first postwar body styles, as the top line above the Wayfarer and Meadowbrook, with the Wayfarer on a shorter 115 inch wheelbase. The only engine offered was a 230 cubic inch flathead six cylinder engine. The Coronet was the top of the line, above the Meadowbrook and the Wayfarer, which was built on a shorter 115 inch wheelbase, and all three used the same flathead six.
