The Model K continued in production for five more years from 1936, but sales declined rapidly in 1937 with the modern Zephyr and the new flagship Continental more appealing to buyers. The Model K was a V12 powered luxury car competing with the Cadillac V12 and V16 and the Packard, offered by Lincoln in multiple body configurations and with bare chassis provided for coachbuilders. It was developed from the Model L on a longer wheelbase and had a V12 engine.
