The popularity of the Eifel in Germany increased after a minor facelift in 1937, which came with a wider choice of body styles and which visually distanced it a little from its British origins, replacing the spoked wheels with steel ones and adding a wrap around front grille. It was named after a mountain range in western Germany, and it made up over half of the Cologne output. The Eifel was a small German Ford based on the British Model C, assembled in Cologne and elsewhere.
