The Eifel initially complemented the Ford Köln, which it had been designed to replace, and then took its place in 1936 as the main small Ford of Germany. It was a Model C based car with a 1172 cc engine, a two seater roadster, a cabriolet or a light truck. The Eifel was a small German Ford based on the British Model C, assembled in Cologne and elsewhere. It was named after a mountain range in western Germany, and it made up over half of the Cologne output.
