1926 Rover 16

Automobiles

The Rover 16/50 was announced on 21 May 1926 to supplement the 14/45 in the Rover range, with an engine of larger bore that was rated at 16 rather than 14 horsepower for tax purposes. The 14/45 was still sold alongside it as the smaller of the two mid sized Rover cars. The 16/50 name referred to its tax rating and its claimed output, and the car stayed in the Rover catalogue into 1929. The 16/50 was a larger bored version of the 14/45 engine.
