Honda manufactured the CBX, a sports motorcycle, from 1978 to 1982. With a 1047 cc transverse six-cylinder engine producing 105 bhp, it was the flagship of the Honda range. It was Honda's first production six-cylinder road bike with GP racing engine technology, with an advanced DOHC 24-valve engine, and it was well received by the press but outsold by its sibling introduced in late 1979, the Honda CB900F. To avoid confusion with other CBX series bikes it is sometimes referred to as the CBX1000. This site lists a page for every model year in the span covered here, each focused on what changed in that year, grouped into 2 generations: the sports CBX (1978 to 1980 model years); the sport touring CBX-B (1981 to 1982 model years). Each year page links to its generation, to this model page, to the previous model year and to Honda.
