The sports CBX of 1978 to 1980 was Honda's first production six-cylinder road bike with GP racing engine technology, its advanced DOHC 24-valve inline six being its outstanding feature while the rest of the bike was conventional, with telescopic forks, a tubular frame, twin rear shocks and straight handlebars. It was bulky, yet only two inches wider than a CB750, because the accessories were stacked so that the alternator and ignition items sat behind the cylinder block. Each model year has its own page.
