Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Frenchman Georges Martin of Moto Martin designed and built a lighter, stiffer frame of nickel tubing in 1980 that could control the CBX motor, and supplied it as a kit, to cure the handling problems of the original bike, which was heavy at 580 pounds. In 1980 the UK journal Motorcycle News ranked the Martin CBX third fastest in its table of road test statistics, at a top speed of 142.9 mph. Neighbouring model years are linked from this page.
