Wolseley 6/80

Automobiles

The 6/80 was the larger of the two first postwar Wolseleys, based on the Morris Six MS and built from 1948 at the Cowley factory. Its 2215 cubic centimeter overhead camshaft straight six gave 72 horsepower, and the car was seven inches longer than the 4/50 with bigger brakes. Built in the traditional style flagship Wolseley buyers liked, it became so familiar as the police car that it was known as the Cops Car. It was replaced by the 6/90 in 1954. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the 6/80 (1948 to 1954).
