The 4 Series was created in 2013 when BMW split the two door coupe and convertible bodies off the 3 Series and gave them a series of their own, adding a five door liftback called the Gran Coupe in 2014. It is now in its second generation, the G22 coupe, G23 convertible and G26 Gran Coupe, and its high performance version is the M4. The electric i4 is based on the Gran Coupe. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the F32, F33, F36 (2013 to 2020); the G22, G23, G26 (2020 to 2026).
