The facelift of the 4 Series, known as LCI, was unveiled on 16 January 2017, with the first pictures of the refreshed coupe in a new colour called Snapper Rocks Blue and the convertible in Sunset Orange. The refresh gave the F32, F33 and F36 small changes in lights and trim, and was the mid life update of the first generation 4 Series, four years after its launch. The refresh did not change the basic shapes of the three bodies or the positions of the plants that produced them in Germany.
