By 2015 the 4 Series family consisted of the F32 coupe, F33 convertible and F36 Gran Coupe, together with the M4 coupe and the M4 convertible, whose production version was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show. The range had been a part of BMW's line up for just over a year, and its coupe was produced in Munich, with the convertible built at Regensburg. Official details had been released as early as December 2012, so the range had a long lead before its appearance.
