Lockheed Martin is the American aerospace and defense manufacturer formed on 15 March 1995 when Lockheed Corporation merged with Martin Marietta, and it is the make under which the company's modern combat aircraft, uncrewed aircraft, transports, spacecraft and launch vehicles carry their names. Headquartered in North Bethesda, Maryland, it works through four divisions: Aeronautics, Missiles and Fire Control, Rotary and Mission Systems, and Space. Its portfolio draws on both parents, bringing Lockheed's lineage of aircraft such as the C-130 Hercules and the F-22 Raptor together with Martin Marietta's Titan rockets and Space Shuttle External Tank, and it today produces the F-35 and leads the international F-35 supply chain. As the top contractor of the United States federal government, it also builds the Orion command module for NASA.
