The Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel, nicknamed Wraith, is an American stealth unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Lockheed Martin Skunk Works and operated by the United States Air Force for the Central Intelligence Agency. Introduced in 2007, it has a tailless flying wing design with pods built into the upper surface of each wing and a single engine whose type has not been officially disclosed. One was sighted at Kandahar Airfield in late 2007, which led an analyst to dub it the Beast of Kandahar, and it was later deployed to South Korea. Iran displayed a captured example in 2011, which released the first detailed images. The Air Force has published few details of its design or capabilities.
