Military Aircraft

Military Aircraft groups every fixed wing aircraft built or operated primarily for a nation's armed forces, spanning fighters and interceptors, bombers and attack aircraft, and military transport and utility types across every era and air force. Belongs here: any aircraft whose primary design purpose or operational role is military, whether a landmark fighter, a strategic or tactical bomber, or a transport, tanker or utility type built for armed forces use. Does not belong here: civil airliners and commercial jet aircraft, general aviation and light aircraft, and pioneer, supersonic, experimental, flying boat, seaplane, lighter than air or rotorcraft types, each grouped under its own subcategory regardless of any historical military connection those categories may also carry.
