Bombardier Aviation

Bombardier Aviation is the aerospace division of Bombardier Inc., a Canadian manufacturer headquartered in Dorval, Quebec, Canada. The division was established in 1989 and today produces the Global and Challenger families of business jets, aircraft aimed at long-range and mid-size corporate and private aviation. For much of its history the division built a far broader range of aircraft, including regional turboprops, regional jets, and narrow-body commercial airliners developed through Bombardier's acquisitions of Canadair, de Havilland Canada, Short Brothers and Learjet. Between 2018 and 2020 Bombardier divested those commercial and regional programs, selling the CSeries line to Airbus and its regional jet and turboprop businesses to other manufacturers, so the company could concentrate solely on business aviation. Bombardier Aviation now positions itself as a dedicated business jet manufacturer, competing with Gulfstream and Dassault Aviation in the corporate aircraft market while continuing aftermarket service and support for its full aircraft lineage.
