The Starlet 90 series, introduced in 1996, retained the same three or five door hatchback ideas. The EP91 came to Europe in the second quarter of 1996, and it was the only generation sold new in Australia, from March 1996 to December 1999. Minor changes with new front bumpers, grille and tail lights were made for 1998 Japanese models, and production ended in July 1999, just after the launch of the Yaris.
