The fourth generation Kijang received a facelift on 1 February 2000, and the facelifted SX and LX retained the carburetted petrol and diesel engines but upgraded the transmission to 5 speed. The third generation was launched in India in January 2000 as the Qualis. It was model year 2 of 4 in the Toyota Kijang (fourth generation, F60, F70 and F80), 1997 to 2007, coming after the 1999 model year and before the 2001 model year.
